When The Humane Society sees the cruelty and neglect that animals like Maggie have endured, it breaks our heart and makes us furious! We know you’ll feel the same when you hear her story.
Maggie was found by our Cruelty Investigator back in October. She lived her life chained to a tree. Without proper food and water, Maggie was eating the bark from the tree, to which she was tied, to get any nourishment that she could find. After living like this for several months, Maggie’s health deteriorated to a critical condition. When our Investigator found her, she was nothing but skin and bones; however, despite her miserable situation, Maggie had a spirit that could not be broken.
Thankfully, there is a happy ending to her story. Maggie was rescued by our Investigator and placed in foster care. A healthy diet and lots of love and affection were just what she needed. Today, Maggie has a new life and even a career! She is part of The Humane Society’s Humane Education Team and routinely appears in schools and at community events to help tell the story of The Humane Society and our fight against animal cruelty.
Join our efforts to save abused and neglected animals like Maggie. Click here to make a financial contribution that will be used in our efforts to end animal cruelty.
On behalf of Maggie and all her furry friends, we extend our most heartfelt thanks.
